Hello Leaf Fans!
So today I wanna talk about the Phil Kessel trade. Phil Kessel was aquired from the Boston Bruins for a first round pick in 2010 and 2011. This means that the Bruins own our first rounds picks for 2 years!! The leafs are currently in 2nd last place which means we would get the 2nd overall pick. Taylor Hall is one of the talented young players who is up for draft and he will probably go to the bruins instead of the leafs. Do you think this was a bad move by Brian Burke? Is Phil Kessel worth more to the leafs than two 1st round picks?
I think the Leafs needed someone. If they had Giguerre at the beginning of the season they would not be in the position they are in. Next year's first rounder will be much higher so I see this trade as one good first rounder for Kessel which I am okay with.
